Collective

We are survivors of torture, former political prisoners, relatives of disappeared detainees, political executions, and exiles from the military dictatorship in Chile. We believe that the response that can be given to that horror is life.

Among many, united in the Memoria Viva project, we fought for 503 days for Pinochet to be extradited to Spain and tried for genocide and crimes against humanity. Although his arrest and detention in London led to significant advances in human rights both internationally and in Chile, he was ultimately allowed to return to Chile for “medical reasons,” demonstrating that impunity continues to prevail. His case once again demonstrated that the neoliberal system can have an impact on collective memory, ignoring environmental and human rights.

With fraternity and solidarity.
